In 2000, the insurance company Ag2r Prevoyance took over as main sponsor. The team achieved further successes with Laurent Brochard, Jaan Kirsipuu and Jean-Patrick Nazon. In 2006, the team joined the UCI ProTour, after the arrival of major cycling names Francisco Mancebo and Christophe Moreau. Fassa Bortolo's departure from the league had freed up a license and AG2R were the only team still in contention for the license, as the Comunidad Valenciana voluntarily withdrew, while former Fassa Bortolo sporting director Giancarlo Ferretti's proposed new team failed to provide financial backing to have. AG2R Prévoyance won 27 races in 2003.
